The Wimbledon winner, who played very successfully in the Davis Cup last year, thus loses quite a few points and falls back to fourth place. Medvedev and Rublev also lose many Davis Cup points from last year. Casper Ruud moves up to position three.

(Jürgen Fritz, 25.07.2022) In Hamburg, 20-year-old Lorenzo Musetti won an ATP tournament for the first time. In a high-class final, he beat Carlos Alcaraz. Musetti thus moves into the top 50 of The True Tennis World Ranking for the first time. The previous Hamburg champion Pablo Carreño Busta falls out of the top 15. In Gstaad, world No. 7 Casper Ruud successfully defended his title in the final against Matteo Berrettini.

Nadal moves ever closer to the top three, Alcaraz overtakes Ruud and Tsitsipas. Sinner and Norrie can both move them up four places and are now in the top ten. Kyrgios rises from 57 to 19.

Medvedev was even eliminated in the round of 16. This means that Zverev, who reached the semi-finals, takes over the top position for the first time and Rafael Nadal moves up from 5 to 4 with his victory, the finalist Ruud from 9 to 5.

In the JFB Ranking, the Spaniard rises from 8 to 5 with only eight tournaments played in the last 52 weeks. Djokovic remains No. 1 thanks to Zverev’s early elimination and Medvedev’s defeat again in the final.

Berrettini is already in the semifinals of a major for the third time, Tsitsipas and Medvedev for the fifth, Nadal for the 36th time.
