(Jürgen Fritz, 01.08.2022) Roberto Bautista Agut won the 250 tournament in Kitzbuhel, Jannik Sinner in Umag and Alex de Minaur in Atlanta. Thus, de Minaur and Bautista Agut move back into the top 20, Sinner consolidates position 8. As the points from the Olympics are removed from the ranking after 52 weeks, Zverev (gold), Khachanov (silver) and Carreño Busta (bronze) drop back.

(Jürgen Fritz, 25.07.2022) In Hamburg, 20-year-old Lorenzo Musetti won an ATP tournament for the first time. In a high-class final, he beat Carlos Alcaraz. Musetti thus moves into the top 50 of The True Tennis World Ranking for the first time. The previous Hamburg champion Pablo Carreño Busta falls out of the top 15. In Gstaad, world No. 7 Casper Ruud successfully defended his title in the final against Matteo Berrettini.

(Jürgen Fritz, 06.06.2022) Djokovic was unable to defend his Roland Garros title. He was eliminated by Nadal in the quarter-finals and drops from 1 to 3 in the JFB Ranking. Medvedev was even eliminated in the round of 16. This means that Zverev, who reached the semi-finals, takes over the top position for the first time and Rafael Nadal moves up from 5 to 4 with his victory, the finalist Ruud from 9 to 5.

Beide scheiden in Miami bereits im Viertelfinale aus und bleiben weiter ohne Turniersieg in der laufenden Saison. Zverev scheitert in Florida an Casper Ruud, Medvedev an Hubert Hurkacz. So bleibt Novak Djokovic weiter die Nr. 1, obschon er seit Monaten kaum spielen darf.
