Pablo Carreno Busta is the new world No. 9

(Jürgen Fritz, 20.07.2021) Pablo Carreno Busta beat Tsitsipas defeater Filip Krajinovic 6:2, 6:4 in the final of the Hamburg European Open, the biggest tennis tournament in Germany. The Spaniard thus won a D tournament (ATP 500) for the first time in his career and is the new world No. 9 in the JFB 52 Week Ranking. In Bastad (E), Sweden, Casper Ruud won, thus moving back into the top 15, and in Newport (E), USA, Kevin Anderson won his seventh ATP title.

Four Spaniards in the semi-finals of the Andalucia Open

(Jürgen Fritz, 10.04.2021) All respect, at the Andalucia Open in Marbella all four Spaniards prevailed in the quarterfinals, including the still 17-year-old Carlos Alcaraz (133), see picture, who surprisingly beat the Norwegian Casper Ruud, the world No. 26. This means that there will be an all-Spanish semi-final in Marbella (ATP 250) today. At the Sardegna Open in Cagliari, on the other hand, only one Italian was able to prevail.
