At 25.5 years old, he is also the youngest Grand Slam winner since Andy Murray’s US Open victory in 2012. In the JFB 52 Week Tennis World Ranking, Medvedev thus overtakes Alexander Zverev and is now very close to Djokovic.

The points system, which has been heavily modified due to the long pandemic break in play from March to August 2020, is said to be distorting, illogical, unfair and hardly understandable. JFB therefore developed a different scoring system that only takes into account results from the last 52 weeks, is less tendentious, more appropriate and quite simple to understand.

Daniil Medvedev had the chance this week in Rotterdam to be the first to enter this sphere. All he had to do was reach the final of the C tournament. But the Russian failed in the very first round. (Jürgen Fritz, 02.02.2021) Beim ATP Cup treten wegen der Pandemie dieses Jahr nur zwölf statt 24 Nationen an und zwar nicht in Brisbane, Perth und Sydney, sondern ausschließlich in Melbourne. Diese zwölf Mannschaften spielen zunächst in vier Dreiergruppen. Die vier Gruppensieger spielen dann die beiden Halbfinals und deren Sieger das Endspiel. Hier alle Ergebnisse.
