Nadal moves ever closer to the top three, Alcaraz overtakes Ruud and Tsitsipas. Sinner and Norrie can both move them up four places and are now in the top ten. Kyrgios rises from 57 to 19.

Defending champion Novak Djokovic continues to lead the JFB 52 Week Tennis World Ranking, even extending his lead a little after his win in Rome. But he loses ten points next week because his tournament win from Belgrade 2 last year drops out of the ranking. And he has 100 points to defend at Roland Garros.

Berrettini is already in the semifinals of a major for the third time, Tsitsipas and Medvedev for the fifth, Nadal for the 36th time.

Zverev overtakes Medvedev to become world No. 2 again in the JFB 52 Week Tennis World Ranking. Nadal rises from 10 to 8.

(Jürgen Fritz, 23.05.2021) In Geneva, Norwegian Casper Ruud won the E tournament (ATP 250) with a victory in the final over Denis Shapovalov, in Lyon (E) Stefanos Tsitsipas won his seventh ATP title with a final victory over Cameron Norrie. In the JFB 52 Week Tennis World Ranking Ruud rises from 15 to 13, Shapovalov from 19 to 18 and Norrie from 30 to 25.

In the first Masters 1000 tournament of the year, the Miami Open 2021, the fifth biggest tournament of the year, a staggering seven Europeans are in the quarter-finals and only one US American: 20-year-old Sebastian Korda. (Jürgen Fritz, 07.10.2020) Die letzten 13 bis 17 Jahre haben drei Spieler die Tennisszene bei den Herren vollkommen beherrscht: Federer seit 2004, Nadal seit 2005 und Djokovic ab 2007. Lange Zeit war außer Murray und Wawrinka niemand in Sicht, der das Zeug dazu hatte, auch bei den Grand Slam-Turnieren mit den Big Three mithalten zu können. Doch allmählich ist Licht am Horizont sichtbar.

Dies steht seit gestern Abend fest, als der dreimalige US Open-Champion und haushohe Favorit Novak Djokovic, die Nr. 1 der Welt, die dieses Jahr noch kein Match verloren hat, disqualifiziert wurde.
