(Jürgen Fritz, 18.11.2021) Am 2. November erhob Peng Shuai auf der chinesischen Kurznachrichten-Plattform Weibo schwere Vorwürfe gegen den Ex-Vizepräsidenten Chinas Zhang Gaoli. Dieser habe sie gegen ihren Willen zum Sex gezwungen. Keine halbe Stunde später war der Eintrag verschwunden, kurz darauf auch Peng. Ihr Weibo-Konto ist weg und im chinesischen Internet kann nicht mehr nach ihrem Namen gesucht werden. Nun tauchte eine bizarre E-Mail „von ihr“ auf.

Matteo Berrittini overtakes Andrey Rublev, who could neither defend his title in Vienna nor the one in St. Petersburg. Jannik Sinner is back in the top ten, Carlos Alcaraz moves very close to the top 20. St. Petersburg winner Cilic and the finalists from Vienna and St. Petersburg, Tiafoe and Fritz, move into the Top 30.

Sinner is now 11th, just 0.5 points behind Norrie at 10th, and Karatsev moves up from 16th to 15th. The top 13 players are all from Europe. France, however, now has no top 30 player.

He beat Nikoloz Basilashvili in the final of the C tournament to move into the top ten of the JFB 52 Week Tennis World Ranking for the first time.

In Indian Wells rang der 24-Jährige in der Runde der letzten 32 den Schotten Andy Murray in ihrem dritten Aufeinandertreffen nach 2:07 Stunden mit 6-4, 7-6 nieder und steht damit im Achtelfinale des Masters 1000-Turniers.

With his fifth ATP 250 title this year, Ruud moves up to position 8 in the JFB 52 Week Tennis World Ranking for the first time.

(Jürgen Fritz, 13.09.2021) Daniil Medvedev defeats Novak Djokovic in the US Open final in three sets to become the second player born after 1988 to win a major title after Dominic Thiem. At 25.5 years old, he is also the youngest Grand Slam winner since Andy Murray’s US Open victory in 2012. In the JFB 52 Week Tennis World Ranking, Medvedev thus overtakes Alexander Zverev and is now very close to Djokovic.

One turned 19 this week, the other is even two months younger, Leylah Fernandez from Canada and the still 18-year-old British Emma Raducanu, also born in Canada. Her parents, a Romanian and a Chinese, emigrated to England when she was two years old.
