Medvedev moves very close to Djokovic in JFB 52 Weeks Tennis World Ranking

(Jürgen Fritz, 13.09.2021) Daniil Medvedev defeats Novak Djokovic in the US Open final in three sets to become the second player born after 1988 to win a major title after Dominic Thiem. At 25.5 years old, he is also the youngest Grand Slam winner since Andy Murray’s US Open victory in 2012. Alexander Zverev is No. 2 in the world again

Medvedev regains second place in JFB 52 Week Ranking

(Jürgen Fritz, 16.08.2021) With his tournament win in Toronto, Daniil Medvedev has moved back to second place in the JFB 52 Week Tennis World Ranking. Alexander Zverev had overtaken Medvedev a fortnight ago with his victory at the Olympic Games. This was Medvedev’s fifth tournament win in the last 52 weeks in singles plus the victory with Russia in the ATP Cup and his fourth career Masters 1000 title (C).

And his compatriot Aslan Karatsev enters the top ten for the first time.

The JFB 52 Week Tennis World Ranking on 26 April 2021

The points system, which has been heavily modified due to the long pandemic break in play from March to August 2020, is said to be distorting, illogical, unfair and hardly understandable.
