Im Viertelfinale war Roger Federer überraschend chancenlos gegen den Polen Hubert Hurkacz ausgeschieden, verlor das erste Mal seit 19 Jahren glatt mit 0:3 Sätzen und erstmals überhaupt einen Satz in Wimbledon mit 0:6. Nun ist auch Federers zweiter letzter großer Traum vor seinem Karriereende geplatzt.

Roger is back!

In 3:35 hours the maestro defeated Dominik Koepfer 7-6, 6-7, 7-6, 7-5 in round 3 of Roland Garros last night and is now in the last 16 of the French Open.

Gleichwohl wird er in Roland Garros beim bedeutendsten Clay-Turnier der Welt, an 2 gesetzt, die beiden anderen an 4 und 8. Andere werden dagegen durchgehend massiv benachteiligt, dadurch aber das gesamte Turniergeschehen verzerrt.
